Marylin please accept my sincere condolences, your loss surpasses anything that we know or feel.

Colin Mucker,

You were always very very good to me, you knew where I was always coming from.  You, I always felt, weren't given the credit for being the good soldier you was and I know your section thought the world of you.  For me you were always honest truthful, said it the way it was and NEVER bowed and scraped and that is where I believe the 'head shed' never got the best from you 'cause you were a good leader and not a 'yes sir no sir' soldier.

However Mucker, you're in the FRV now and more than likely having a right good laugh with the fellas who are already there.  When it is my turn I hope I am good enough to stand beside you. please have a beer ready for me.

Colin my friend, you will be greatly missed by me but even more, sadly missed by Mailyn.  God Bless Mucker.

Dear Marilyn

I just heard today of the sad news of Colins passing,  I first met Colin when i joined the anti tank platoon back in tidworth.

He showed me by his example how to become a leader, he never asked anyone to do something he wasnt prepared to do himself.  My memories of him have always been of a man who was fair, funny and to the point.
In my eyes he was an outstanding person and will be missed greatly.

Regards

Mark

Marilyn, I know we spoke the other day, I just wanted to reiterate a sad loss to the Regiment and to the larger family, I know that you will have a lot of support from the Old and Bold and some of the more Younger and Bold..  My thoughts are with you and your Family.  A larger than life character with a true sense of humour, I am still recovering from our Minden Days, Colin will be in his element at the FRV  C et A

You would'nt believe how sorry i am.
A cracking bloke and a bloody laugh.
I never ever heard anyone say a bad word against Bedknobs and that speaks volumes.
Sorry i missed his send off but over in the "pit" so i hope you understand?
Take care and best wishes

Sorry, Marilyn, deeply sorry.  And many apologies for the late condolences.  I have had a bit difficulty organising my interternet (Spain is miles behind).

I was in touch with Colin some time last year and then the conversations just ended and I did not know why.  I sent him a couple of E Mails to re-establish contact, but to no avail - now I know the reason there was no reply and I am deeply sorry.

As someone said above:

"Stand easy, Colin, you have done your bit for the Regiment and the country.
Hang up your boots and combats;  I know that in spirit you will always wear your beret displaying that badge which we were all proud to serve under".

"You were a good friend and will always be remembered as one of the characters in the Battalion and will never be forgotten"

June and I were very proud to know you, Colin.

Stand at ease, old soldier, stand at ease.

Love Pedler and June
