It is with regret that we announce that John Bond has sadly passed away. John served in the 3rd Battalion and then with the 4th Battalion and was caretaker at G Coy at the Ceders.
The funeral is being held at the City of London Cemetary at 11:15am on Thursday 30th March.
We are very sorry & sad to hear the new's of john's passing.he was a great friend.although we have not seen him for a while,we always exchanged xmas cards every year.and we shall always remember the 2 years we where at the ceders with him. our condolences go to all his family & friends.he will be sadly missed. So very sad to hear the news about John. I will always remember John and the good times and the laughs we had together during our 46 year friendship. We will miss you John, sleep well mate, see you later.
on behalf of myself,john arnold and billy taylor out in cyprus i would like to send our condolences to dennis and the family of jb .what a man our friendship going back 35 years we will be meeting on the evening of the 30th to have a jb drink so sore heads all round farewell jb and keep them bedfords dagged up
Very shocked to hear of Bondy's death - he was such an active fella when I knew him at the Cedars. I can still see him beating blokes much younger than him (Steve Carolan and Worthy to name a few)
I bet he's already set up a Black Button Bar in heaven - selling manky lager and suspect pies to St Peter and co - calling everyone a c... and telling stories about the old RB's - and I bet it's packed every night!
RIP Bondy - I'll see you for a shandy before the century's out!
